YELLOW BOURBON – Microlot – Special Edition
Grown in the renowned coffee-growing region of Huila, Colombia, this Yellow Bourbon is cultivated at an altitude of 1.650 metres above sea level by dedicated farmer Yeison Leivano. Huila’s ideal microclimate, rich volcanic soils, and year-round rainfall provide the perfect conditions for producing coffees of exceptional quality and flavour.
Yellow Bourbon, a distinguished varietal, is known for its vibrant sweetness and complex profile. This lot is naturally processed, allowing the coffee cherries to dry with the fruit intact, intensifying the fruity and sugar-like notes in the final cup.
This outstanding coffee delivers a bright and juicy flavour profile with distinct notes of mandarin and sugarcane, rounded out by a smooth, creamy finish. The natural process enhances its sweetness and lends a velvety mouthfeel, making each sip a delightful experience.
Whether you’re a seasoned coffee connoisseur or an adventurous sipper, Yeison Leivano’s Yellow Bourbon from Huila offers a rich and satisfying journey into Colombia’s finest coffees.

Oops! Should have said crema, not microfilm above. Must have been too excited!

The bold but intriguing earthy flavour took me back to a recent sailing/surfing trip along Sumatra where I was acquainted with Indonesia’s famous Aceh Gayo coffee, the best coffee I’ve ever had at the time. The similarity is real. When pouring, the magnificently golden-brown microfilm had me in a state of excitement, not unlike discovering an uninhabited perfect Sumatran wave. The finished product was a super smooth coffee that in my opinion, is the best Dani and the team at The Columbian has delivered to his long-term fan club. Thank you ❤
